I went to visit my son Charlie, in Austin in October. He lives with his dad, my was-band, Robert. I often have challenges with bowels moving slow and not often and my was-band has the opposite - too fast too often. So I finally have a poop and it clogs the toilet, "Oh shi..." There is no plunger? Do I really need to share... no escape.
"NO we don't have a plunger, why do we need a plunger"? R shouts.
"I clogged the toilet!"
"You did what?"
On and on it goes...with a mix of chagrin and amusement, I go buy their first plunger.
Now, yesterday I call my was-band up to talk about paint, and he mentions that now Charlie is having problems with his toilet flushing "Ever since Mom came..."
Yeah, I 'm the scapegoat, as usual"
We both laugh.
I notice this time I feel love, like warm chocolate melting, not the old pain and anger of being the scapegoat. Funny where spiritual growth shows up.
